Red Cross Babysitting Course I (Ages 11-14) Or Babysitting beginners 6.5 hour course
Babysitting Basics: Created for those inexperienced babysitters, our Babysitting Basics training course can help you learn how to provide care for infants and children, understand what to do in an emergency, choose age-appropriate activities, recognize and handle a range of behaviors, learn how to start your own babysitting business. This course is designed to help participants develop leadership skills, build their business, help keep themselves and others safe, help children learn how to behave, and learn how to handle basic child care emergencies and basic first aid. Participants will practice skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, judgement calls, dressing and diapering, picking up and holding, and bottle and spoon feeding babies, **This course does NOT come with Red Cross CPR/FA certification.**
Red Cross Babysitting Course II - Recommended for ages 15-and Up (**Must be at least 15 to qualify for this course) AND be Experienced Babysitters 6.5 hour course
Advanced Babysitting: Created for the older, more experienced, babysitters ready to take their business and skills to the next level. This course is designed to take experienced babysitters into a more in depth look at the development of babies and children. Through role play activities, babysitters will have a clear understanding of learning through play and how children memic the world around them. Participants will take a deeper look at what activities and behaviors are developmentally appropriate at all early childhood stages. They will have an opportunity to brainstorm as a group, sharing experiences and thinking out-side-the-box, to begin compiling a list of ideas and activities that can be easily carried out with common household materials. This course will be combined with a Blended Infant and Child CPR/AED and First Aid course. Participants that can prove the knowledge of skills, endurance, and ability to complete CPR/AED/FA skills sets correctly will be CPR/AED/FA certified at the completion of this course. **PRE-COURSE completion of online CPR/AED/FA learning and practicing material is a REQUIREMENT for this course.**
